Diabari jet crash: Thursday’s HSC exams also suspended

Revised exam schedule will be announced later through official notice

Authorities have postponed Thursday’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under all education boards following the deadly crash of a fighter jet at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari.

Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Board of the Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, confirmed the decision in a press statement on Tuesday night.

“All HSC and equivalent exams scheduled for Thursday, the 24th of July, under all boards are postponed due to unavoidable circumstances,” the statement read.

“Revised dates will be announced later through a formal notice.”

According to the exam calendar, the postponed tests include Economics Paper I and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice Paper I.

Tuesday’s HSC exams were also suspended earlier in response to the same incident involving the Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BGI jet, which crashed into the school premises, killing 28 people.
