Content creator RS Fahim Chowdhury has been released from prison after securing bail in four cases for his alleged connection in murder, attempt to murder, and terrorism involving the July Uprising.
Defence lawyer Md Rabiullah said Fahim had walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail on Saturday evening.
The High Court had previously granted him bail in two cases filed with Mohammadpur Police, and one each with Gulshan Police and Ramna Police.
After the bail orders reached the prison, the jail authorities released him in the presence of his family members.
Fahim was apprehended by a “mob” outside the Mirpur National Zoo on Mar 29 before police arrived and took him away. He was sent to jail the next day over his alleged involvement in the murder of Md Imran in Gulshan during the July Uprising.
After that, Mohammadpur Police pleaded to show him arrested in three cases. But the court ordered him to be shown arrested in two cases.
The content creator received bail in the first three cases. However, he was again arrested by Ramna Model Police in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
