A starry start to Bengali New Year at bdnews24.com

Warm greetings, lively conversations, and a variety of traditional delicacies set the tone for a cosy Baishakhi gathering

In a vibrant celebration of the Bengali New Year, stars of the entertainment industry joined figures from politics, diplomacy, and literature at bdnews24.com’s annual Baishakhi gathering.

The event began at noon and continued through the afternoon on Tuesday.

The atmosphere was marked by warm greetings, lively conversations, and a spread of traditional delicacies.

Renowned actor Tariq Anam Khan joined the festivities alongside his wife Nima Rahman and their son Arik Anam Khan.

Actor and architect Aupee Karim arrived with her husband, filmmaker Enamul Karim Nirjhar.

Reflecting on the cosy atmosphere, Aupee said: "I have guests at my own home, but I made sure to stop by even for a short time. This organised yet homely arrangement is wonderful."

The gathering also saw the presence of Pijush Bandyopadhyay and his wife, actress Jayosree Kar Jaya; painters Monirul Islam, Biplob Saha of Bishworang; photographer Nasir Ali Mamun; and actors Ahsan Habib Nasim and Rawnak Hasan, who arrived together.

"I come to this event almost every year," said Jayosree.

"It’s a place where I get to meet close friends and have a heart-to-heart chat. It makes the first day of the New Year truly joyful."
