Ex-Bagerhat MP Amirul, former ward councillor arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police did not clarify from where they had been detained or what allegations had been filed against them

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detectives have arrested former Bagerhat-4 member of parliament (MP) Amirul Alam Milon.

He was arrested alongside a former ward councillor and seven others, according to information from the DMP’s Public Relations Division.

The statement did not note where they had been arrested from or what allegations had been made against them.

DMP spokesman Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman said, “Additional information on the arrestees will be collected and details will be made available at a later time.”
