Additional DIGs among 16 police officers transferred in latest shake-up

Latest reshuffle affects CID, traffic school, counter-terror unit, tourist police and training centres

The interim government has carried out a new series of top-level changes in the police force, giving new postings to 16 officers, including five additional deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and 10 superintendents of police (SPs).

The Public Security Division of the home ministry issued the transfer order on Wednesday.

Additional DIG transfers    

• Rebeka Sultana (Police Headquarters) → Criminal Investigation Department (CID)

• Faisal Mahmud (Bangladesh Police Academy, Rajshahi) → Sylhet Range

• Md Ashraful Islam (Anti Terrorism Unit-ATU) → Police Headquarters

• Farooque Ahmed (Police Headquarters) → Headquarters of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn)

• Md Mizanur Rahman (Special Branch) → Traffic Driving School (TDS), Dhaka

SP-level transfers

• AKM Akhtaruzzaman Basunia (Highway Police) → Deputy Inspector General's Office, Rangpur Range

• Md Sakhawat Hossain (Barishal In-Service Training Centre) → Rajarbagh Police Telecommunications Department

• Md Khairul Islam (Highway Police) → Tourist Police

• Khandakar Nur Rezwana Parvin (Police Bureau of Investigation – PBI) → Bangladesh Police Headquarters

• Mir Abu Touhid (Noakhali Police Training Centre) → CID

• Md Mizanur Rahman (Tourist Police) → APBn

• Abul Bashar Mohammad Atikur Rahman (Khulna Metropolitan Police) → CID

• Saikat Shaheen (Kushtia In-Service Training Centre) → Industrial Police

• Kazi Md Abdur Rahim (ATU) → Deputy Inspector General's Office, Chattogram Range

• Md Abdullah Al Yasin (CID) → Barishal In-Service Training Centre

ADC transfers

Md Aminur Rahman (Sylhet Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner) → Special Branch
