The car of National Citizen Party Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has allegedly been attacked on the way from Jaintiapur to Sylhet city after the conclusion of a “July Procession” event.
However, police claim that no attack occurred.
NCP Sylhet District Member Secretary Kamrul Arif alleged the the vehicle came under attack around 10:45pm on Friday.
He said, “The attack occurred as we were returning to Sylhet after the programme ended at Haripur Bazar. It took place before we entered Sylhet city, about 15 minutes after we left Haripur. We are currently at Surma Gate.”
The convoy of NCP leader Sarjis Alam had been attacked and vandalised in Sylhet’s Golapganj on Thursday afternoon.
On his personal Facebook page, Patwary wrote: “Our car was attacked again in Sylhet. The car’s window was broken and two people were bloodied.”
A video on Facebook shows broken glass on Patwary’s car window. Blood could be seen coming from the finger of a person sitting inside the vehicle.
However, Jaintiapur Police Station chief Md Mahbubur Rahman Molla said, “There was no attack in Jaintiapur. After the programme ended, I took them to Jaintia Gate myself. There was a lot of rain and the roads were clear. The talk of an attack is false.”
Shah Poran Police Station chief Khondoker Md Mostafizur Rahman said, “There was no attack on the NCP convoy.”
