Two people have been killed in a motorcycle accident and another has died after falling from a van in Chuadanga's Alamdanga Upazila.

The accidents occurred near the Alamdanga Microbus Stand and Nowdapara late on Thursday night, according to the local police station chief Masudur Rahman.

The victims were identified as Riad Hasan, 13, son of Belgachi Union Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Hasan, Mohammad Palash, 35, from Alamdanga's Faridpur village, and Hannan Hossain, 47, a resident of the Upazila's Kalidaspur.

“Around 12am, Hannan Hossain, who was under the influence of drugs, was travelling on a van (locally known as a Pakhi van) from the Alamdanga Microbus Stand toward the Upazila complex. During the journey, he fell off the van,” said Masudur.

“He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.”

Meanwhile, Palash and Riad were returning to Alamdanga from Kushtia on a motorcycle, according to Masudur.

“When they reached the Nowdapara area of Alamdanga around 10pm, their motorcycle collided with a pickup van, killing both Palash and Riad.”

The bodies were handed over to their families after the inquest reports were completed, said Masudur.

“No complaints have been filed regarding the accidents. If any complaints are received, legal action will be taken. Otherwise, an unnatural death case will be filed.”
