Road crashes across Bangladesh have killed 380 people and left 542 others wounded in July, according to the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority.
On Wednesday, a BRTA report said buses were involved in the highest number of road accidents in July with 117 cases, followed by motorcycles with 116.
The casualty figures, accounting for 427 road accidents, however, are lower than the statistics released by the Road Safety Foundation a day earlier.
According to the foundation’s data, 418 individuals died and 856 were injured in 443 road accidents in July. Of these, 131 accidents involved motorcycles, resulting in 109 deaths.
The BRTA's report, signed by its Chairman Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed, was posted on the agency’s website.
The statistics on road accidents across the country were collected through BRTA's divisional offices, the report read.
