A total of 5,206 candidates have passed the multiple-choice question (MCQ) test for the special 48th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) aimed at recruiting doctors.

Publishing the results on Sunday night, the Public Service Commission (PSC) said they have been declared eligible for the viva for the posts of assistant surgeon and assistant dental surgeons.

After the oral test, 3,000 of them will get the opportunity to join the government service as doctors.

According to the results, 4,695 candidates have been qualified for the assistant surgeon position, while 511 for the assistant dental surgeon in the MCQ test.

Last Friday, the commission arranged the 200-mark MCQ test for 41,025 candidates. There were about 14 applications for each vacant post.

The results of this test were initially scheduled to be published on Monday (Jul 21) per the roadmap.

The PSC has announced that the full results of the test and relevant information will be available on its website (www.bpsc.gov.bd).

Only those who pass the written MCQ test will be eligible to take part in the 100-mark viva examination, it added.

The circular for the special 48th BCS was published on May 29.

Through this BCS, 3,000 doctors will be recruited, of which 2,700 will be appointed as assistant surgeons and 300 as assistant dental surgeons.
