Outgoing president Mohammed Shahabuddin has arrived at his private residence in Gulshan with his family after leaving Bangabhaban, two days after resigning from office.
His motorcade left the official presidential residence at 2:24pm on Sunday under tight security and arrived at Green Villa on Road No. 123 in Gulshan at 2:58pm.
Shahabuddin will now live at the residence with his family.
Before becoming president, he had lived in a fifth-floor apartment in the same building.
By the afternoon, access around the Gulshan home had been restricted, with both pedestrian and vehicle movement limited.
Members of the Special Security Force (SSF) were deployed inside and outside the main gate of the residence.
Amid days of speculation over his resignation, Shahabuddin, Bangladesh's 22nd President, stepped down on Friday afternoon, with nearly two years remaining in his term.
In his absence, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad will serve as the Acting President.
