Rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of Bangladesh has been suspended after an oil-laden train derailed inside the Lawachara National Park between Bhanugachh and Sreemangal stations in Moulvibazar.
Sreemangal Station Master Shakhawat Hossain said the incident occurred around 3:30pm on Friday in Kamolganj Upazila, causing the Dhaka–Sylhet intercity Jayantika Express to be stranded at Satgaon Railway Station in Sreemangal.
Shamshernagar Station Master Rajat Kumar Roy said a hydraulic tool van was being brought from Kulaura to recover the derailed tanker wagon.
