3 die in head-on crash between bus and motorcycle in Bhanga

All of the dead hail from Hasanhati village in Faridpur’s Nagarkanda

Three motorcycle passengers have been killed after their vehicle crashed head-on into a passenger bus in Faridpur’s Bhanga.

The accident occurred in the Naopara Bus Stand area on Saturday night, according to Sub-Inspector Sohel Khan of the Bhanga Highway Police Station.

The dead have been identified as Chayan, 23, Nayan, 20, and Siam aka Shojib. All three hailed from Hasanhati village in Nagarkanda Upazila.

Witness Abdul Baten and several others said they heard a sudden loud crash near the Naopara Bus Stand and turned to see that a motorcycle had collided head-on with a passenger bus. The three men on the motorcycle were thrown onto the road by the force of the accident.

Chayan, the motorcycle driver, received a critical injury to the head. He was taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Nayan and Siam were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and later died there.

SI Sohel said, “We went to the scene when the incident was reported. One dead body and the motorcycle caught in the accident were recovered and taken to Bhanga Police Station.
