“Every day 150 (Rohiingyas) will go. We will start coming 15 November,” he told reporters at the foreign ministry after a meeting on Monday.
He said they will go by waterway and initially 2,260 Rohingyas, who are on the published list, will go. The process will continue, he said.
Over 700,000 Rohingyas took shelter in Cox’s Bazar fleeing ethnic cleansing in the Rakhine State in Aug 2017. Both countries later signed a deal to start the repatriation.
The United Nations says conditions are not yet safe for their return, in part because Myanmar Buddhists have been protesting against the repatriation.
