The unit had 17,476 applicants, but only 11,630 seats.
The exam was held at seven centres at the respective colleges on Saturday. The colleges were Eden Women's College, Dhaka College, Begum Badrunnesa Govt Women's College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Government Titumir College and Government Bangla College.
DU Vice Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman visited examination halls at Begum Badrunnesa Govt Women's College. During the visit, he was accompanied by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Abu Md Delwar Hosain and the teachers and officials of the affiliated colleges and the university.
Admission tests for the science unit were held on Friday.
The science unit saw 31,804 applicants vying for 6,500 seats. The exam was held at the DU and 12 other centres.
