The health directorate advises people to avoid working in sunlight for a long period, but rest is a luxury the poor cannot afford
The bodies were found near an abandoned water pump in the BSCIC industrial area in the Sadar Upazila early Wednesday, said Mehedul Karim, superintendent of police.
The girl has been identified as Selina Akter, an eighth-grader of Amin Uddin Dimukhi Dakhil Madrasa and the boy as Jahangir Alam, a student of grade nine in Technical School and College in Kurigram.
They were seen riding a bicycle together on Tuesday, according to the locals.
“Both of them had scarves coiled around their necks. An initial investigation suggests they were murdered but details will be available later,” said police superintendent Karim.
Police sent the bodies to Kurigram Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
