The party made the announcement in a statement at around 11:30pm Tuesday.

Miscreants shot Rahman in the leg and waist four times and set his car ablaze near Gulshan-2 intersection around 8:45pm, said Khaleda's press wing official Shamsuddin Didar.

The attack took place when the former foreign secretary was leaving after meeting the BNP chief at her Gulshan office amid the party's indefinite blockade.
