A BNP-backed chairman candidate of Bhola’s Monpura Upazila has pulled out of the polls.
Shamsuddin Bachchu Chowdhury made the announcement at a media conference at the Monpura Press Club around 11am on Sunday, three hours after polling began.
“I am boycotting the polls as supporters of Awami League-backed candidate Selina Chowdhury took over polling stations and chased away my agents,” Chowdhury said.
