Dhaka, June 24 (BDNEWS) – Foreign minister M Morshed Khan Friday said construction of the third bridge over the river Karnaphuli is under process.
"Required money has been collected and after finishing all the formalities construction work will be started", the minister said while speaking as the chief guest at the installation ceremony of the Chittagong Youth Forum-Dhaka at the Jatiya Press Club.
He said development of Chittagong is needed for development of the country, he said adding the government is committed to implement the development activities of Chittagong in a planned way.
Morshed Khan said the third bridge on the Karnaphuli would have four lanes.
Morshed Khan said a vested quarter is trying to tarnish the image of the country abroad and hatching conspiracy against Bangladesh.
Gazi Mohammad Shahjahan Jewel MP and general Secretary of Chittagong Samity Dr Jahangir Sattar Tinku spoke, among others at the function chaired by the president of the Forum Muhammad Abdul Halim.
