A mild heatwave is sweeping three districts, including Rajshahi, and is likely to persist.
The other two districts experiencing the heatwave are Pabna and Jashore, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Saturday.
The Met Office forecast that between 9am and the following 24 hours, many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, could experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers.
Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is also likely at places in Rangpur and Sylhet divisions.

“Other regions may also receive rain, but over fewer areas and in smaller amounts. Overall rainfall may increase after Jun 30.”
The Met Office said day and night temperatures across the country are likely to remain nearly unchanged during the period.
