Bangladesh has raised Local Warning Signal No. 3 at all four seaports as squally weather threatens coastal areas and the north Bay of Bengal.
On Saturday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said pressure differences over the northwest Bay of Bengal could trigger squally winds across the seaports, the north Bay and adjoining coastal areas.
The weather warning asked Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports to keep Local Warning Signal No. 3 hoisted.
Fishing boats and trawlers have also been advised to remain close to the coast and move with caution until further notice.
In its forecast for the 24 hours from 9am on Saturday, the Met Office said parts of Rangpur Division could receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
