Fire destroys 11 homes in Chattogram’s Banshkhali

The fire, sparked by a suspected electrical short circuit, causes losses worth an estimated Tk 600,000 and leaves 11 families without a home, authorities say

A fire has burnt down 11 homes in Chattogram's Banshkhali Upazila.

The blaze broke out in the early hours of Friday in West Manikchhari Headpara in Shilkup.

According to the Fire Service Control Room, the fire started around 2:00am.

Two units from the Banshkhali Fire Station responded and managed to extinguish the flames by around 3:15am.

The fire, believed to have originated from an electrical short circuit, caused an estimated loss of at least Tk 600,000 and left 11 families homeless, according to the Fire Service.
