Metro rail services have temporarily been suspended after a drone was found on the tracks between Uttara Centre and Uttara South stations.

According to authorities, train operations were halted from 8:47pm to 8:56pm on Saturday, lasting nine minutes.

Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, deputy project director (Public Relations) of the metro rail, said the drone was lying on the section between Uttara Centre and Uttara South stations, causing a brief disruption in train movements.

The services were resumed after the drone was removed.

Sharifi added that the authorities were unable to provide details on who operated the drone or where it had been launched from.

The metro rail authority expressed regret to passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused by the incident.
