A late-night motorcycle accident on Netrokona’s bypass road claimed the life of a university student.
The accident occurred around 12:45am on Saturday, said Netrokona Sadar Police Station chief Md Al Mamun Sarkar.
The dead was identified as Albar Khan Sami, 22. He was the grandson of former Netrokona-2 MP Ashraf Uddin Khan.
A student of the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Sami was a former member of Netrokona Red Crescent.
Officer Sarkar said that Sami was returning home on a motorcycle on the city bypass road at night.
Suddenly, the bike lost traction, tossing Sami onto the road and killing him instantly.
The body has been recovered and handed over to the family following a necessary legal process, Sarkar said.
