Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that 14,300 candidates recommended for the position of assistant teacher in government primary schools will soon be appointed "conditionally".

The recruitment process for the 2025 intake, which had been mired in debate, is being fast-tracked to ensure the quality of primary education remains uninterrupted, he said.

Speaking to reporters at Kachua Govt Pilot High School, Milon acknowledged the controversies surrounding the rapid execution of the recruitment exams.

"While there has been significant debate regarding this recruitment phase, the government has reviewed all aspects thoroughly and decided to move forward for the sake of the education system," the minister said.

He assured that candidates would receive their appointment letters shortly, provided they met specific stipulations.

Addressing students, Milon emphasised that the administration is working to make the education system more engaging and student-friendly.

He highlighted that various measures are being implemented to increase school attendance and reduce dropout rates across the country.
