Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has gone to the Babunagar Madrasa in Chattogram’s Fatikchhari to meet with Hifazat-e Islam Bangladesh Ameer Muhibullah Babunagari.
The head of government landed by helicopter at the Pehelgazi Dighi field around 3:30pm on Sunday.
He was greeted by members of the public and waved in response.
From there, he travelled to Al-Jamiautul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagar Madrasa by road.
After meeting with the Hifazat chief, the prime minister headed to Hathazari Upazila.
There, he will visit the grave of Hifazat founder Amir Shah Ahmed Shafi at Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Muinul Islam Madrasa.
Earlier in the afternoon, Tarique had attended a rehabilitation programme for flood victims in Chattogram’s Banshkhali.
In the morning, he inspected Moheshkhali’s Matarbari Deep Sea Port, the Coal Power Project, and the work of the Moheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA).
