The Awami League will be unable to participate in the parliamentary elections, the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said.

On Wednesday, he said the interim government’s position on the Awami League is “clear”.

“The party’s activities are banned. The Election Commission has scrapped the Awami League’s registration as a party. As a result, it cannot take part in this election.”
