Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings.
The two leaders discussed regional issues during the call, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office of Pakistan on Friday.
In what was described as a “warm and cordial” call in the X post, Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes to Tarique and the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Eid.
He also recalled what he termed the “historic, fraternal and familial ties” between the two countries, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across all spheres.
The leaders also discussed broader regional developments in South Asia, as well as the situation in the Middle East.
Both emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving disputes.
