The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has instructed Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra maritime ports to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3, anticipating squally winds over coastal areas and seaports due to a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal.

In a warning issued on Wednesday, Assistant Meteorologist Afruza Sultana stated that a low-pressure area developed at 6am on Wednesday over the west-central Bay and adjacent northwest Bay off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha.

The Met Office predicts that this low-pressure area may further intensify, causing a steep pressure gradient over the north Bay of Bengal.

Squally winds are expected to blow over the north Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh's coastal areas, and its seaports.

Fishing boats and trawlers located in the north Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
