Some parts of Gazipur and Tangail will see a 16-hour gas outage on Tuesday due to tie-in work on gas pipelines.

The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company said in a notice on Monday that the shutdown will begin at 8am and continue until midnight on Jul 7.

Gas supply on 10-inch and 20-inch diameter, 140 PSIG lines from Gazipur’s Joydebpur to Tangail’s Kumudini will remain suspended during the period.

The disruption will affect all industrial, captive power and CNG customers connected to the affected lines in Joydebpur, Naojor, Itahata, Kodda, Konabari, Kashimpur, Mouchak, Shafipur, Chandra Palli Bidyut, Kaliakoir and Mirzapur areas.

Titas said there may also be low gas pressure in adjacent areas during this time.

The authorities have apologised for the temporary inconvenience to customers.
