Tonu murder: Former army officer Hafizur rearrested

Retired army member Hafizur Rahman has been rearrested in the murder case of Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a student of Comilla Victoria Government College and theatre activist.

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) said in a message on Saturday that Hafizur was arrested at his home in Dhaka’s Keraniganj.

It said he was rearrested for failing to comply with a court order that also directed his arrest.

The process of sending Hafizur to a Cumilla court is under way, the PBI said.
