Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-306, carrying 250 passengers, is stuck at the Fiumicino Airport in the Italian capital of Rome.

The airline authorities wrote in a statement on Friday night that the aircraft had suffered a “technical glitch”.

Passengers say the flight made an emergency landing in Italy after taking off from Canada’s Toronto due to a mechanical fault.

A passenger on the flight told bdnews24.com, "Passengers were kept seated for a long time after the mechanical fault was detected. Authorities said the plane would fly to its destination after the fault was repaired. However, it has now been declared grounded."
