International airline flydubai has resumed flight operations on the Chattogram-Dubai route after a break of more than 18 months, despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The first flight since the hiatus landed at Shah Amanat International Airport from Dubai at 8:45am on Wednesday.

It departed for Dubai with passengers an hour later at 9:45am.

According to a media statement from airport authorities, flydubai had previously operated at the airport until Aug 31, 2024.

The airline had suspended its international flights from the port city due to different limitations.

Following initiatives by the airport authorities, the carrier has now returned to the route and will operate 14 international flights weekly.
