Platforms Gallery holds rickshaw art workshop in Gulshan

Inspired by the spirit of the Bengali New Year, Platforms Gallery invited participants to celebrate the iconic street art

Platforms Gallery has hosted a Rickshaw Art Workshop to celebrate the iconic art tradition.

The session introduced the 18 participants from diverse backgrounds to traditional techniques and storytelling through hands-on practice “inspired by the spirit” of the Bengali New Year, the gallery in Dhaka’s Gulshan 2 said in a press release.

Each participant created two artworks—a rickshaw-inspired canvas and a hand-painted pair of sunglasses – with support from contemporary artist Shakil Mridha and coordinator Sultan M Mineuddin.

“This initiative reflects Platforms Gallery’s commitment to promoting Bangladeshi artistic heritage, with more such workshops planned in the future,” the press release said.
