AWS Community Day Bangladesh 2024 held in Dhaka

The event celebrates the AWS cloud community's growth and diversity in Bangladesh, bringing together over 300 professionals and enthusiasts for a day

The AWS User Group Bangladesh has hosted the fourth edition of “AWS Community Day Bangladesh 2024", marking a significant milestone in the community's growth and commitment to fostering cloud expertise in the country.

The event on Saturday brought together over 300 cloud professionals and enthusiasts for a day of learning, networking, and collaboration. It was spearheaded by User Group lead Farzana Afrin Tisha, head of cloud business at Brain Station 23 PLC and its co-lead and director Mohammad Mizanur Rahman with the user group organisers, according to a statement issued by the company.

Supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Platinum Sponsor Brain Station 23 PLC, and Silver Sponsor Selise Digital Platforms, the event featured 19 speakers who conducted informative sessions on various aspects of AWS cloud technology.

The highlight of the day was the keynote address by Bhaskar Joshi, head of Partner Success Scale (India and SAARC) at AWS, who shared insights on the transformative power of cloud technology in fostering global connectivity.

AWS Community Day Bangladesh marked a significant milestone for women in technology in Bangladesh with the inaugural launch of AWS Women in Tech Bangladesh, a community dedicated to empowering and supporting women in the field of technology, the statement read.

Ridhima Kapoor, developer marketing lead at AWS, and Md Manirul Islam, director of ICE and IT (Network Operations) at American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB), delivered community and academy keynote addresses at the event respectively.

The event also featured a comprehensive panel discussion on the potential of artificial intelligence (AI)  both locally in Bangladesh and globally.
