Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is on the verge of signing for Catalan giants Barcelona on a season-long loan, and fellow Englishman Gary Lineker believes “Marcus will do well” ahead of the deal
“There's something wrong with United at the moment, and the players who have left have generally been successful,” former Barca star Gary Lineker was quoted as saying by The Sun.
"What's happened to the players who have left Manchester? The players who have left are pushing hard; they've done incredibly well everywhere.”
Rashford’s previous loan spell at Aston Villa has impressed Lineker, and he expects the outcast Man Utd player to raise his game by having better players to share the pitch with.
Lineker said, "Rashford seems to be arriving in the right frame of mind; this is a great challenge for him.”
"He's going to a place with brilliant players where it would be difficult to play regularly, but there are a lot of games, and even though Barça has three forwards like Raphinha, Lewandowski, and Lamine, you can't expect to play every game from start to finish.
"It's a good signing for Barcelona. If Marcus arrives at his best, it's incredible. He was already fantastic at Aston Villa, and he can do so at Barcelona. I hope that's the case."
Rashford travelled to Barcelona on Sunday, but his transfer has yet to be announced.
He completed a medical on Monday and was set to begin training with the team on Tuesday, with an official unveiling planned for Wednesday.
The Catalan side still face uncertainty over registering Rashford, as reigning LaLiga champions will need to sell players to free up space.
