Bangladesh's first-ever qualification for the Women's Asian Cup main round has given them a significant lift in the FIFA rankings.
In the most recent standings, the women's team has jumped 24 spots, from 128th to 104th.
Their highest FIFA ranking to date was 100th, reached in 2017, and this is their closest comeback to that level in nearly eight years.
Spain has once again risen to the top of the revised standings, pushing the US into second place.
Bangladesh went unbeaten in the Asian Cup qualifiers held in June and July, thrashing Bahrain 7-0 before beating a strong Myanmar side 2-1.
Peter James Butler’s team sealed the group with another dominant 7-0 win over Turkmenistan.
