He made the call at an event at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Friday.

“We’ve to fight and struggle. We shouldn’t be frustrated. We’ve to exhaust every available option to carry out our struggle. It's not an easy task,” remarked Fakhrul.

He called upon the party leaders and activists not to get confused by the government‘s ‘propaganda’ against the party. “BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is running the party from abroad. In line with his instructions, we’ll follow the right path of politics to restore democracy.”

Alleging that a plot is on to turn Bangladesh into a failed state, Fakhrul claimed, “The existence of Bangladesh is now at stake.”

Recalling Khaleda’s contributions to politics and the country, the BNP leader said the former prime minister is a “rare democracy-loving and dedicated leader in Asia who has sacrificed a lot throughout her life for democracy”.

Khaleda had taken the helm of the government foiling all the national and international conspiracies hatched in the past against her, he said.
