The prime minister gave the instructions at a reception programme at Ganabhaban on Monday after returning from the 73th annual gathering of the UN.

“We have been in power for the last two terms after a tougher struggle with hundreds of obstacles. Today Bangladesh is an established country and that has been possible due to the Awami League government,” she said.

“All our prestigious achievements have been gained due to the people’s support and our ability to fight against conspiracies one after another.”

“There are still plots against the Awami League,” she said. “Don’t be complacent, it will lead to destruction. We have to go forward with the mindset that the opponent parties is always stronger.”

“We have to stay alert so that the party does not suffer, as in 1991 and 2001, due to complacency.”

The prime minister asked Awami League leaders and activists to inform people about the achievements of the government. She said it is the Awami League that first established voting rights in Bangladesh.

The prime minister has dedicated her “International Achievement Award’ and “Special Recognition for Understanding Leadership” awards to the people of Bangladesh. “I have received enough plaudits during my trip. I dedicate these honours from the world’s top leaders to my people.”

She also spoke about the successes and the outcomes of discussions with world leaders during the 73rd United Nations General Assembly.
