“The prime minister said India will always remember Bangladesh for what we’ve given them. Can there be more shameless, insulting comments than these for the nation?” Moudud asked at a discussion in Dhaka on Friday.

The BNP Standing Committee member claimed Hasina made the comments to cover up her ‘failure’ to get anything from India during her recent tour there.

“You (Hasina) admitted you gave them (India) all…But you could not say what we’ve achieved,” Moudud said.

He also called the BNP leaders and activists to launch a movement to free their jailed chief Khaleda Zia.

“All our efforts in the legal battle to free her are failing as the government controls the courts,” he said, referring to arrest orders for Khaleda in a number of cases.
