The 11-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami has finalised a seat-sharing plan for the general election.
Specific seats have been left for Islami Andolan candidates despite concerns about the party leaving the alliance earlier in the day.
Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis chief Mamunul Haque said a press conference will be held to announce the details of the seat-sharing plan.
Leaders from 10 parties in the alliance -- aside from Islami Andolan -- met at Jamaat-e-Islami’s central office on Thursday afternoon.
The emergency meeting came together to decide on the final seat-sharing plan for the parliamentary polls.
After a photograph of the meeting circulated on social media, one of the leaders attending confirmed the authenticity of the image.
The photograph shows Jamaat deputy chief Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis chief Mamunul Haque, NCP Convenor Nahid Islam, BDP Chairman Anwarul Islam Chand, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju, and Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdur Kader, among other senior leaders, attending the meeting.
