A massive earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale has jolted eastern and north-eastern regions of India, triggering panic.

Tremors were also felt in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday evening.
But there were no immediate reports of casualties or of major damage to properties.
bdnews24.com Senior Editor Subir Bhaumik, who was in Guwahati Airport to catch a flight to Kolkata, said the terminal building swayed and shook so violently that panic-stricken people started rushing towards the tarmac, triggering a stampede-like situation.
A few commercial and residential buildings in Assam’s capital Guwahati developed cracks, according to official sources.
In Kolkata too, people rushed out of high-rise buildings of malls, residential apartments, and offices as tremors were experienced for some seconds.
According to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7:25pm at the depth of 134 km.
The Regional Meteorological Centre at Guwahati said the epicentre of the earthquake was in Myanmar.
