A Nepal-based think-tank has sought Bangladesh’s immediate support with food and medical aid after a massive earthquake left a trail of destruction.

The Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) in an email to bdnews24.com said that they were seeking support of all SAARC countries.
“It’s the time to show the strength of SAARC,” its founder Sunil KC wrote.
He said Nepal lacks resources due to “weak economy and political instability”.
“We have limited number of hospitals and medical equipment,” he told bdnews24.com. “It’s really a difficult time”.
He said they were trying to reach all of their contacts across the world, seeking aid.
A powerful earthquake struck Nepal and sent tremors through northern India and Bangladesh on Saturday, killing hundreds of people, toppling a 19th-century tower in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu.
The quack also triggered a fatal avalanche on Mount Everest.
There were reports of devastation in outlying areas of the Himalayan country after the quake struck with a magnitude of 7.9, its epicentre 50 miles (80 km) east of Nepal's second largest city, Pokhara.
