The Election Commission has invalidated BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi’s nomination for the general election from Cumilla-4 (Debidwar).

The decision came on Saturday afternoon at a hearing in Agargaon’s Nirbachan Bhaban, following an appeal filed by National Citizen Party (NCP) candidate Hasnat Abdullah.

The NCP chief organiser (south) alleged that Manjurul had concealed his status as a loan defaulter.

After the hearing, NCP lawyer Zahirul Islam Musa confirmed the ruling, saying the appeal was accepted.
