Bangladesh has reported two more deaths among people with measles symptoms over the past 24 hours, alongside 128 new infections.
The latest bulletin from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), released on Thursday, said the nationwide death toll among patients with measles symptoms has risen to 654 since Mar 15.
The bulletin also said the total number of diagnosed measles deaths has reached 93.
As of 8am on Thursday, another 128 people had tested positive for the highly contagious viral disease during the previous 24 hours.
Among the deaths involving patients with measles symptoms since Mar 15, Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number with 284 fatalities.
Rajshahi Division has reported 89 deaths, Sylhet 87, Mymensingh 62, Chattogram 53, Barishal 41, Khulna 29 and Rangpur nine.
The health directorate said 818 people with measles symptoms sought treatment at hospitals across the country over the past day.
Of them, 761 were admitted for treatment.
Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of new hospital admissions with 295 patients.
Another 170 patients were admitted in Chattogram Division, followed by 99 in Barishal, 60 in Sylhet, 51 in Khulna, 50 in Mymensingh, 32 in Rajshahi and four in Rangpur.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, 92,031 measles patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide.
Of those, 88,419 have recovered and been discharged after treatment, according to the DGHS.
The health authorities also reported that the cumulative number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 108,998.
The total number of confirmed measles cases now stands at 13,198.
