Aryan Khan has long turned heads for his looks and charisma, but unlike many other star kids, he’s choosing to carve his own path behind the camera rather than in front of it.
The 26-year-old son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his directorial debut with a web series titled “Bad**s of Bollywood,” set to premier on Netflix.
A teaser for the project, which dropped last week, featured Aryan himself, and his confident screen presence and sharp delivery won plaudits from fans and industry insiders alike, with many drawing inevitable comparisons to his superstar father.
While speculation had often swirled about whether Aryan would follow Shah Rukh and his sister Suhana into acting, he has consistently made it clear that he isn’t interested in performing on screen.
In an earlier interview with the Times of India, Shah Rukh had hinted at his son’s ambitions.
“My son does not want to act, he wants to make films. He writes a bit, and he writes quite well. He’s learning to be a film director or writer.”
The actor also expressed pride in his son’s ambitions, adding: “He is my setup for the future. When no big director wants to work with me, I’ll bring my own big director.”
"Bad**s of Bollywood" has been in development for more than a year and is expected to explore the glamour and the challenges of the Hindi film industry.
Reports suggest that Shah Rukh himself may appear briefly in the series, alongside other actors from the industry.
Suhana, meanwhile, is preparing for her first major role alongside her father in his upcoming film King.
The production, which also features Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji, is scheduled for release in 2026.
