The Bangladeshi entertainment industry is stricken by grief following the military aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari.
The crash, which occurred shortly after take-off, claimed at least 19 lives and left over fifty students injured or severely burned.
Prominent figures from film, television, and music industries have expressed their condolences and called for solidarity with the victims’ families.
Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan shared a heartfelt message on social media, praying for the swift recovery of the injured and strength for the grieving families.
“May God grant the families strength to endure this difficult time,” he wrote.
Actress Mehazabien Chowdhury wrote, “Extremely saddened and shocked by the tragic plane incident in Uttara, Diyabari. Praying for everyone!”
Fellow actress Tasnia Farin also offered prayers for Milestone School.
Actor Shajal Noor wrote, “May Allah keep everyone safe.”
Actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba urged the public not to circulate photos or videos of the injured students online, calling for sensitivity amid the tragedy.
Director Chayanika Chowdhury made an emotional plea to journalists and social media users to refrain from questioning the parents of the injured during this distressing time.
With hospitals across Dhaka facing a pressing need for blood, actor Tawsif Mahbub appealed for blood donations from those near the crash site.
Actress Toma Mirza shared details of the specific blood groups required at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

According to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06pm on Monday before crashing into one of the school’s academic buildings.
The plane burst into flames after crashing, with plumes of smoke visible from afar.
Firefighters from eight units rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
