Rajshahi University has announced the launch of the Hult Prize 2025–26, opening registration for the ninth edition of what is widely known as the “Nobel Prize for Students”.

This year’s global theme, “Unlimited Sustainable Development Goals”, calls on students to rethink how social impact is imagined and delivered, according to a media statement.

The prize has long served as a platform for student ideas to grow into real-world ventures with lasting social and environmental value, it said.

It added that the RU organising team is treating the theme as a test of how far a campus can push innovation when placed on a global platform.

At a press briefing at the Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji Academic Building on Tuesday, Campus Director Nazifa Tabassum Dhamoni and the organising committee outlined a more structured programme than in previous years.

The press note said the schedule includes SDG-aligned pre-events, intensive bootcamps, expert workshops, mentorship labs and a campus-wide campaign designed to maintain momentum through the on-campus finals.

Faculty advisors told the event that Bangladesh’s youth are entering the innovation economy rapidly, while the country’s major challenges such as food security, sustainable cities, digital inclusion, climate resilience and gender equality require solutions that balance ambition with execution.

They said the Hult Prize at Rajshahi University helps cultivate that balance by guiding students from concept to delivery.

Organisers said RU’s ambitions this year go beyond the campus. They highlighted Project Podchinho in underserved Rajshahi communities, an education support programme in Char Khidirpur, documentary work on women’s empowerment and extensive tree-plantation drives as examples of impact-driven initiatives.

The statement added that the committee is building stronger media partnerships, deeper incubation support for student startups and extended guidance beyond the campus finals.

The launch event also confirmed this year’s partners: BIKO, Khan Tehari Ghar and Bengal Signature. According to the organisers, their support will help power the scale and vision of the upcoming season.

The statement said Rajshahi University aims to build a proving ground for a generation determined to deliver solutions that matter, reflecting the theme’s insistence on ideas that are, in every sense, unlimited.
