Dhaka, Sept 29 (bdnews24.com)—Intelligence officers have arrested six people for taking money in exchange for leaking medical and dental admission question papers, hours before the exams day.
National Security Intelligence's additional director lieutenant colonel A K M Aminul Haque told bdnews24.com that those people were arrested at Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi and Shahbagh of the city Thursday night.
"We arrested Shaheduzzaman Babu alias 'Shahed' acting on a tip-off. Later we also arrested five others who came to take questions from him and recovered Tk 550,000 from them."
The arrestees are Jamil Ahmed, Mohammad Aminul Islam, Tanvir Ahmed Siddique, Nurunnabi and Mohammad Suzan, whose are now kept at NSI headquarters in Shantinagar.
Aminul said, "Shahed introduced himself as a 5th-year student at Dhaka Medical College. He also disclosed names of two doctors who were involved with this racket. We are also enquiring about those."
Admission tests for all the government and private medical and dental colleges are scheduled for at 10am Friday. Candidates will get an hour for answering 100 multiple-choice questions.
The test was deferred by a week from Sept 23 due to the arrest of a staff for leaking questions. He was caught while coming out hiding questions from a government press on Sept 13. Two other persons were arrested in that case.
