Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud have discussed ways to deepen ties between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, with trade, investment and manpower among the areas in focus.
The two met at the United Nations headquarters on Friday afternoon, according to Tarique's Assistant Press Secretary AKM Nazmul Haque.
“They discussed ways to further strengthen the historic and brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia,” Nazmul said.
“In particular, they exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, manpower, development cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual interest.”
Tarique emphasised the need to further deepen and broaden the friendly relations between the two countries, he added.
The talks also covered prospects for expanding Saudi investment and economic cooperation in Bangladesh, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Irene Khan also attended the meeting.
