Dhaka, April 16 (bdnews24.com) – Professor Veena Kamal, wife of former chief justice Mostafa Kamal, died on Thursday.
Her son in law Mainuddin Monem told bdnews24.com, ""She died of a sudden heart attack at home around 9.30pm."
Former director of Dhaka University's Institute of Social Welfare, Veena was 73 years old.
"She was suffering from heart disease for the past two years," said Monem.
Said a family friend: "She went for her usual morning walk, passed an excellent day ... Then, as she was taking her medicine around 9:30pm, she said to her maid she wasn't feeling well ... and died."
She leaves behind her husband, three daughters and several grandchildren.
One of her daughters, Nashid Kamal, is a noted singer and a former teacher of Dhaka University.
